3rd Grade - 5th Grade
Artists, Vik Muniz and Chakaia Booker, will inspire this group of students while they create individual mandalas that will be arranged together to form a unified collaborative artwork. Students will work with a wide range of materials as they explore the art principles of texture, color, and unity. They will also be discussing ways that Muniz and Booker address waste impact on the environment. The transformation of trash into art can draw attention to the ever present issue of waste in daily life, and empower students to ask questions as they look for new solutions to help change the future impact of trash.
